During Couture Week Fall 2017 in Paris, celebrities became muses of the world’s top designers, wearing the season’s finest selection of haute couture right off the runway. This season ditched fading trends and revived classic staples with contemporary edge. Here’s a look at some of the top style moments from Couture Week, and the trends they are forecasting for the style season ahead.
Lemon Curry Hues
Pantone has chosen the color ‘Lemon Curry’ in their list of Color Palettes for the Autumn/Winter 2017/2018 season — and it looks like they hit it right on the nail. The color made an appearance among some of the top celebrities at Couture Week — including Celine Dion at the Dior Haute Couture Show and Karlie Kloss. The whimsically edgy color is a surprising yet fitting contrast to the flowy silhouette of a full length dress.
Ankle to floor length hem lines were front and center throughout Couture Week Fall 2017. While the sheer trend made yet another return this year, it was reinvented with pleats and sparkle. Pleats were also combined with structural patterns to make a statement that really popped.
Luxe Details and High Slits
The young starlets of the hour stayed true to the classically refined theme of this year’s festivities. Simplicity was key, while colorful, signature pieces elevated each look to perfection. Embellishments, pops of colorful hues and fur accents were just some of the key accessories.
Flashy tops and subdued bottoms were all the rage at this year’s Couture Week. Balloon sleeves, embellished fringe and bold patterns mixed with classic denim or cigarette pants are matches made in (haute) couture heaven.
