It’s official! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially announced their royal engagement, which took place in London earlier this month.
The exciting engagement between Harry, the fifth in line to the throne and Markle, a California-born actress, is sure to bring a refreshingly modern energy to the royal family.
According to Kensington Palace, the wedding is set to take place in Spring 2018. Following the official announcement, the newly engaged couple posed for photos in the Kensington Palace Sunken Garden, both smiling from cheek-to-cheek.
In many ways, Markle trumps many of the conventions expected of a duchess-to-be. But she undoubtedly breaks those conventions with her love for philanthropy, stunning beauty and of course, her style. During their recent engagement photo-op, Markle wore a white Line wrap coat, P.A.R.O.S.H. dress and nude, lace-up, Aquazzura heels. Most noted was the Cleave and Company engagement ring designed by Prince Harry himself! The diamond at the center is from Botswana (where the couple has spent a significant amount of time together), and the outside stones are diamonds from the collection of Princess Diana.
Prince Harry told the reporters at the photocall he knew Markle was the one for him “from the very first time we met.”
